Biozeroc receives ‘Fast Start: Innovation’ grant from Innovate UK

Biozeroc has received a Fast Start: Innovation grant from Innovate UK to accelerate the development of Biozeroc's carbon-negative concrete and help UK companies reach net zero goals.

“We are delighted to have the opportunity to work alongside Innovate UK as part of this grant award to accelerate our BioConcrete development, which will directly enable construction companies to meet their net zero targets. We expect to bring Biozeroc’s first product samples to market in 2023, and this grant enables us to deliver these with impact from the start,” said Liv Andersson, Biozeroc’s Chief Executive Officer.

About BioZeroc

Biozeroc is a climate-tech startup using BioTech and scalable process technology to create the carbon negative construction materials of the future. Biozeroc’s patent-pending BioConcrete completely removes the need for cement, instead using naturally occurring bacteria mixed with organic feedstocks & circular reagents.

BioConcrete has previously been limited to making thin elements or healing cracks - and that is where Biozeroc enters the picture. Biozeroc is bridging the gap between biotech and smart scale-up technology to create elements of a larger size and higher commercial viability than what’s been achieved before.
